Manchester United have reportedly opened initial talks with Brentford over a possible transfer for Bryan Mbeumo.

The Cameroon international has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most sought-after attackers following another productive campaign with Brentford. His performances have attracted interest from several clubs, with United keen to strengthen their attacking options.

Mbeumo offers pace, direct running and an ability to contribute goals and assists. His versatility also allows him to operate across the front line, qualities that could make him an attractive option for United.

The Manchester club are looking to improve their squad after an inconsistent campaign and have identified attacking reinforcements as an important part of their transfer plans.

Brentford, however, are expected to demand a substantial fee for one of their most important players. Mbeumo remains under contract and the Bees have little reason to sell unless their valuation is met.

United’s initial discussions are therefore likely to be followed by further negotiations over the transfer fee and personal terms.

The player’s preference could also become important as the transfer situation develops. With several clubs potentially interested, United may need to move quickly if they want to secure his signature.

Mbeumo’s Premier League experience could make the Cameroon forward a relatively low-risk signing for United as they attempt to rebuild their attacking department.
