Manchester United have reached a verbal agreement to sign 17-year-old Paraguayan left-back Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The young defender, regarded as one of the brightest talents to emerge from Paraguayan football in recent years, has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs before United moved to secure his signature.

Softfootball can confirm the deal was confirmed by Romano on Friday. He posted:
Manchester United reach verbal agreement to sign 17 year old Paraguayan left back Diego Leon from Cerro Porteno, here we go!
Initial fee will be $4m plus $1m easy add-ons and over $3.5m based on player’s team future performances.
Leon is expected to complete his move and arrive at Old Trafford in July 2025. The teenager made his senior debut for Cerro Porteno back in August, scoring on the same day in a 1-0 win over Sportivo Ameliano.
