Kobbie Mainoo produced a memorable performance as Manchester United secured a 2-0 victory over FCSB in the Europa League on Thursday.
According to Softfootball, the young midfielder matched a remarkable European feat previously achieved by Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney after contributing a goal and an assist in the victory.

Mainoo set up Diogo Dalot to open the scoring shortly after the hour mark before finding the back of the net himself eight minutes later to complete a fine individual display.
According to OptaJoe, Mainoo became the first Manchester United player since Rooney in September 2004 to score and assist in his first major European start. Rooney achieved the feat against Fenerbahce.
The result also helped United finish the Europa League league phase in third position with 18 points.
Ruben Amorim’s side have therefore secured automatic qualification for the round of 16, avoiding the need to compete in the knockout play-off round.
