Ademola Lookman believes Atalanta can achieve even greater success in the coming year after reflecting on a memorable 2024 that saw the club lift the UEFA Europa League for the first time in their history.
The Nigeria international expressed his optimism after helping Atalanta earn a 1-1 Serie A draw against Lazio, where he provided the assist for the late equaliser. Softfootball understands Lookman is confident Gian Piero Gasperini’s side can build on last season’s achievements.
Looking ahead to 2025, the Super Eagles forward said the team remains determined to continue its impressive progress.
He said:
The club had a fantastic 2024, so we want to continue doing the same thing and the New Year will be better. It was a tough match, the first half was very difficult for us, but we fought and on another day might have won the game.
Atalanta currently sit at the top of the Serie A table as they chase what would be the first Scudetto in the club’s history.
