Ahead of England vs DR Congo in the Round of 32, Softfootball has gathered that Kobbie Mainoo has surprisingly played zero minutes for England across all three group‑stage matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite finishing the season brilliantly at Manchester United under Michael Carrick, the 19‑year‑old midfielder has not been used at all by England manager Thomas Tuchel.

Mainoo’s World Cup so far:

  • vs Croatia — benched, ZERO MINUTES
  • vs Ghana — benched, ZERO MINUTES
  • vs Panama — benched, ZERO MINUTES

Three matches, no appearances, and no opportunity yet to showcase the form that made him one of the Premier League’s standout young midfielders.

As England prepare for their knockout showdown with DR Congo, the big question is whether Tuchel will finally turn to Mainoo or continue to leave one of England’s brightest talents unused.
