Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has invited fans and pundits to continue criticising his performances whenever he fails to deliver in front of goal, insisting scrutiny only fuels his improvement.
The Senegal international faced heavy criticism early in the Premier League season following a lack of goals from Chelsea’s forward line, though his form has picked up since.
Softfootball reports that Nicolas Jackson addressed the criticism ahead of Chelsea’s Conference League clash with Astana. He said:
I want to hear people say bad things about me!
Criticise me on the pitch, it’s nice, it helps you. I love this, you know.
Jackson was honest about where he still feels he needs to improve, acknowledging he hasn’t yet reached the level he aspires to. He added:
I’ve not made it here yet. I’m just improving.
Making it is scoring every week, 20/30 goals, or winning trophies.
The 23-year-old believes maintaining the right mentality is just as important as scoring goals, stressing that hard work and consistency will eventually bring success.
His response reflects a player determined to learn from setbacks rather than be discouraged by outside opinions.
