Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi expects an intense battle when his side face Chelsea in Thursday’s Premier League London derby at Stamford Bridge.
The Whites head into the Boxing Day fixture in impressive form, having remained unbeaten throughout December, and will be hoping to continue that run against their West London rivals.
Softfootball understands Iwobi is fully aware of the challenge Chelsea present but believes Fulham are ready for another fiercely contested encounter.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Nigeria international said:
Confident team. They have got so many talented players not just the eleven. But the players they can bring on as well can impact the game. It is another derby.
Iwobi stressed that derby matches are often decided by determination rather than reputation, insisting Fulham must be prepared for a physical contest. He said:
I am sure, how good you are is going to be out the window. It is going to be war.
With both clubs chasing important Premier League points, Fulham will be looking to build on their strong recent performances, while Chelsea aim to maintain momentum in front of their home supporters.
