Italy produced a strong attacking display to secure a deserved 4-1 victory over Türkiye, with Alessandro Bastoni, Davide Frattesi, Michael Kayode and Francesco Pio Esposito finding the net.
Softfootball reports that Italy dominated large portions of the contest and established a commanding advantage early on. Bastoni opened the scoring in the ninth minute, finding the net from a corner, before Frattesi doubled the advantage in the 22nd minute after Kayode’s effort was saved.
Kayode then got on the scoresheet himself five minutes later, finishing with his right foot after combining with Francesco Pio Esposito. Türkiye responded immediately after the restart, with Barış Alper Yılmaz capitalising on a defensive error to reduce the deficit.
Italy restored their three-goal advantage in the 50th minute when Francesco Pio Esposito headed home from Sandro Tonali’s delivery. Tonali had earlier struck the post before the goal.
Türkiye pushed forward in search of another goal, with Arda Güler creating opportunities, but Italy’s defence held firm. Donnarumma also made important interventions as the hosts controlled the closing stages to seal the victory.
The result came before Italy’s subsequent Nations League meeting with Belgium, where the Azzurri suffered a 2-0 defeat at the Stadio Olimpico. Mika Godts opened the scoring in the 20th minute before Dodi Lukébakio added the second in the 69th minute.
