Softfootball noted that Caicedo’s remarks come after Real Madrid issued an official statement denying reports linking the Spanish giants with a move for Enzo Fernández, easing speculation over the midfielder’s immediate future. Despite the rumours, Caicedo made it clear he would welcome the opportunity to continue playing alongside his midfield partner.

“I love Enzo, I have a lot of respect for him. I want him to stay but I’m not gonna talk about that…”

The Chelsea midfielder also highlighted how important Enzo is to the squad.

“If he stays, that would be massive.”

Caicedo and Enzo have formed one of Chelsea’s key midfield partnerships, with both players expected to play central roles in the club’s ambitions for the new season.

While uncertainty has surrounded Enzo’s future in recent months, Caicedo’s comments underline the value the Argentine brings to the team both on and off the pitch as Chelsea continue preparations for the upcoming campaign.
