Declan Rice has shared his admiration for Chelsea midfielder Moisés Caicedo, revealing he even voted for the Ecuadorian in his PFA Team of the Year. The Arsenal star has been in outstanding form this season, including a Man of the Match performance in the Gunners’ emphatic 3-1 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League this week, Softfootball reports.
Chelsea, on their part, have also been in superb form. The Blues dismantled Barcelona 3-0 in Europe, with Caicedo putting in one of his finest displays of the season, a showing that further amplified the comparisons between the two midfield powerhouses ahead of the weekend.

According to Fabrizio Romano via his official X handle, Rice spoke openly about Caicedo and the competitive energy between them. Romano posted;
Declan Rice: I voted Moisés Caicedo in my PFA Team of the Year. It’s gonna be an exciting battle between me and Caicedo, I will be ready! . I have a lot of respect for Moises. There is so much comparison between us, but we are playing different positions”, told CBS.
This weekend’s showdown between Arsenal (1st) and Chelsea (2nd) now carries even more weight and the individual duel between Rice and Caicedo could play a huge role in determining who walks away with the victory in one of the most anticipated Premier League clashes of the season.
With both midfield generals in top form and their teams firing on all cylinders, fans can expect a fierce, high-tempo encounter one that might very well be decided by who wins the Rice–Caicedo battle in the center of the pitch.
