Erling Haaland has committed his long-term future to Manchester City after signing a new 10-year contract with the Premier League champions. The Norwegian striker’s previous agreement was due to expire in 2027, but his latest deal will keep him at the Etihad until he is 34 if he sees out the contract.
City confirmed the agreement on Friday, with Haaland expressing his delight at extending his stay with the club. Softfootball reports that the new contract represents a major commitment from both the player and Manchester City as they continue to build around one of Europe’s most prolific forwards.
Haaland said:
I am really happy to have signed my new contract and to be able to look forward to spending even more time at this great club.
He added:
Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters and it’s the type of environment that helps bring the best out of everybody.
Since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, Haaland has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, Champions League and UEFA Super Cup. He has also scored 21 goals in 28 appearances this season.
