Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that every opponent his side comes up against currently feels like a difficult assignment, as the club looks to arrest a troubling run of form.
City head into Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Feyenoord on the back of five consecutive defeats, having suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad over the weekend.
Softfootball understands that Guardiola used his Monday press conference to stress the scale of the challenge ahead.
Speaking on the visit of Feyenoord, Guardiola explained:
Right now, every opponent is tough for us. They have a strength and we are going to have to play well to discover their weaknesses. They’re a traditional Champions League team. Alongside PSV and Ajax, the best three teams in the Netherlands.
Despite the recent slump, the Spaniard remained upbeat about turning things around.
He also addressed Kevin de Bruyne’s fitness struggles, revealing:
He is fighting and training more than ever. Last game before Spurs he came to me and said it’s the first day I didn’t feel anything for months.
