FIFA Rankings Shift as New Zealand Qualify for Women’s World Cup 2027

FIFA has confirmed a major shake-up in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking, with significant movement both within and beyond the top 10 following recent international action.

Softfootball earlier reported There was also a historic breakthrough for the New Caledonia women’s national football team, who scored their first-ever goals against opposition from outside Oceania during the FIFA Series, marking a significant milestone in their development on the international stage.

According to a post made on FIFA’s official X handle, The updated standings reflect results from Women’s World Cup qualifying matches as well as the inaugural women’s edition of the FIFA Series, highlighting a shifting landscape in global women’s football.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand women’s national football team have officially secured qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 after a narrow 1–0 victory over the Papua New Guinea women’s national football team in the Oceania qualifying final on April 15, 2026.
