Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabián Ruiz became emotional while reflecting on his journey to becoming a professional footballer and the sacrifices his mother made to help him achieve his dreams.
The Spanish midfielder revealed that his mother never pressured him to become a professional player. Instead, her biggest wish was simply to see him happy while enjoying football.
My mother simply wanted to see me happy and playing football without worrying about whether I would become a professional,
Ruiz said.
Ruiz admitted that his success would not have been possible without the sacrifices made by his mother throughout his career.
Without her efforts and sacrifices, none of this would have been possible. I will always be grateful to her,
he added.
The PSG star also stressed that his mother made sacrifices far greater than those he made while pursuing his football career.
“She sacrificed much more than I did. I was simply playing football, while she had to make so many sacrifices.”
