Chelsea are preparing a move to sign Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabián Ruiz, with Xabi Alonso keen to add the experienced Spain international to his midfield.
The potential move comes immediately after Softfootball reported that Como had completed the signing of Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea in a deal worth €30 million in guaranteed fees plus a further €6 million in add-ons.
The 30-year-old has recently renewed his contract with PSG and currently intends to remain in Paris. However, Chelsea are monitoring the situation closely and are exploring the possibility of making a significant offer to convince the French champions to consider his departure.

While earlier discussions have centred around a potential deal in the region of €20 million, Chelsea could ultimately be prepared to offer more than €60 million if they decide to push ahead with the move. No agreement has been reached at this stage, with PSG yet to indicate that Ruiz is available for transfer.
Alonso is understood to be a strong admirer of the midfielder and believes his experience and technical qualities could add another dimension to Chelsea’s midfield.
