Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has been offered a new contract by the Nigeria Football Federation, featuring a significant upgrade that reflects the federation’s confidence in his work and long‑term vision for Nigerian football.

Softfootball understands the new deal includes an improved salary of $100,000 per month, double his previous $50,000 monthly earnings. Chelle is expected to sign the contract within the coming week, marking a major step toward securing continuity in the national team’s technical leadership.

Under the proposed agreement, Chelle will also take charge of the Nigeria U‑23 team, a strategic move aimed at creating a stronger and more direct link between the youth national teams and the senior Super Eagles setup. This initiative is designed to ensure a smoother transition for young talents into the senior squad, strengthening Nigeria’s long‑term football development pathway.

In addition, the NFF will now assume responsibility for the salaries of Chelle’s assistants, relieving him of the previous burden of paying them from his own earnings, a change that further professionalises the coaching structure.
