Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Lecce defender Patrick Dorgu, with the Denmark international expected to undergo his medical on Sunday.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the 20-year-old is set to join the Red Devils in a deal worth €30 million, with a further €5 million available in potential add-ons.

Softfootball reports that Dorgu was an unused substitute during Lecce’s 3-1 victory away to Parma on Friday as his transfer to Old Trafford moved closer.

Romano revealed that the medical has been scheduled, with the necessary paperwork also expected to be completed before the move is officially announced. He shared:

Patrick Dorgu will become Man United player for €30m plus €5m add-ons from Lecce, as expected

Medical booked and contracts to be signed by Sunday.

Dorgu was seen acknowledging Lecce supporters after the final whistle, with the emotional moment appearing to signal the end of his time with the Italian club.

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is keen to bring in the versatile defender because of his suitability for the 3-4-2-1 formation.

Dorgu’s arrival could also provide much-needed cover at left-back, where United have struggled due to injuries to Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
