Super Eagles duo Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Ademola Lookman played decisive roles as Lazio and Atalanta battled to a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s Serie A clash.

Dele-Bashiru opened the scoring for Lazio before Lookman produced a late assist to rescue a point for Atalanta, who returned to the top of the Serie A standings. Softfootball understands both Nigerians delivered standout performances in a closely contested encounter.

Dele-Bashiru put the hosts ahead in the 27th minute, netting his second Serie A goal of the season and his fourth across all competitions in 14 appearances.

Lookman, the reigning CAF Player of the Year, responded in dramatic fashion by setting up substitute Marco Brescianini for a simple finish in the 88th minute to earn Gian Piero Gasperini’s side a share of the spoils.

The result moved Atalanta back to the top of the table with 41 points, one point ahead of second-placed Inter Milan, who defeated Cagliari 3-0 earlier on Saturday.
