Club Brugge legend Marc Degryse has advised Super Eagles midfielder Raphael Onyedika to keep his emotions under control following his frustrated reaction after being substituted in Club Brugge’s 2-1 victory over Westerlo.
Softfootball added that the former Belgian international believes the Nigerian midfielder crossed the line with his visible display of frustration and should learn to handle such situations more professionally.

Onyedika appeared visibly unhappy after being replaced by Hugo Vetlesen in the 82nd minute of the Belgian Pro League encounter.
The midfielder’s reaction drew criticism despite Club Brugge securing all three points.
Speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws via Voetbalbelgie, Degryse insisted both the coaching staff and club management should address the incident to prevent a repeat.
According to him, Onyedika’s overall display during the match was below expectations, making his reaction to being substituted even more surprising.
The former Belgium international noted that he had rarely seen a defensive midfielder react in such a manner after being taken off, stressing that players in that role are expected to remain composed regardless of the circumstances.
Onyedika has been a key figure for Club Brugge since joining the Belgian side, but Degryse believes maintaining discipline and emotional control will be vital if the Nigerian hopes to continue developing at the highest level.
