Cunha, Mount back for Manchester United ahead of Chelsea clash

Manchester United have received a welcome boost ahead of their Premier League clash against Chelsea on Saturday with the return of Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount from injury, Softfootball reports.

Both players missed the Manchester derby where the Red Devils lost 3-0 at the Etihad to their bitter rivals. Interestingly, both players picked injuries during Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over newly promoted Burnley just before the international break.

During the press conference for the Chelsea match, United manager, Ruben Amorim was asked for updates of his players fitness in a question and answer session shared on Manchester United’s official media, he replied:

Dalot is out. Mason is in the squad. Cunha is in the squad. Licha is still out. I think that is it. Tyrell Malacia is returning to contact with team-mates and the ball in the Under-21s. Then we will see.

Manchester United have lost two matches so far in the premier league against Arsenal and Manchester City but drew 1-1 draw against Fulham. Manchester United only premier league win was against Burnley at Old Trafford just before the international break.

The Red Devils will face a difficult test against Chelsea, who are unbeaten in the Premier League but must have drawn confidence from watching the Blues in midweek lose 3-1 to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League match-day one.

Amorim’s men currently have four points and are placed 14th with four points while Chelsea sit in fifth after two wins and two draws left them with eight points.
