Nasarawa United defender Victor Collins has expressed his determination to establish himself as a regular member of the Super Eagles following his maiden senior national team call-up.

Softfootball understands that the centre-back is the only Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) player included in Augustine Eguavoen’s squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.

Collins described his invitation as a dream come true, admitting it was a surreal experience to share a dressing room with players he had previously watched from afar.

The defender said training alongside established stars such as Victor Osimhen and Alex Iwobi has motivated him to raise his standards even further.

According to Collins, earning a place in the national team means he must work even harder, insisting that the effort which brought him into the squad will no longer be enough if he hopes to remain there.

The Nasarawa United defender added that he has always maintained a winning mentality and is fully prepared to fight for a permanent place in the Super Eagles.

With his first opportunity now at hand, Collins believes he has what it takes to become a long-term member of Nigeria’s national team and is determined to seize every chance that comes his way.
