Chelsea have reportedly rejected Como’s opening proposal for Trevoh Chalobah, with the Serie A club falling well short of the Blues’ asking price as the battle for the defender’s signature begins to intensify, Softfootball confirms.
According to reports, Como submitted an offer worth €25 million plus €2 million in add-ons after identifying Chalobah as one of their priority defensive targets following their historic qualification for the UEFA Champions League. However, Chelsea are holding firm in negotiations and have made it clear they value the England international considerably higher.
The Blues are demanding €30 million plus a further €5 million in performance-related bonuses, creating a significant gap between the two clubs that could complicate any potential agreement.
Como’s interest has grown steadily over recent days as manager Cesc Fàbregas looks to strengthen his squad ahead of an ambitious European campaign.

The transfer, however, is far from straightforward. Beyond Chelsea’s valuation, Como also face stiff competition from Inter Milan, who continue to monitor Chalobah’s situation and could yet enter formal negotiations.
With Como’s opening bid rejected and Inter still lurking, negotiations are expected to continue in the coming days as the Italian clubs attempt to convince Chelsea to lower their demands or match the club’s valuation.
