Ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League campaign, Chelsea are orchestrating ambitious moves for two of Europe’s brightest young talents, Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho to strengthen their attacking options.
Under Enzo Maresca, fresh from their Club World Cup triumph, the Blues are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to build a squad capable of challenging for domestic and European glory.
The two deals are being treated as separate negotiations, with neither considered an alternative to the other. Crucially, both players are reportedly open to the move and view Chelsea as an attractive destination.

Talks for Xavi Simons are already at an advanced stage, with RB Leipzig aware of the Dutch international’s desire to leave, and Chelsea have seized the opportunity, placing the 22-year-old at the top of their wishlist and are working to finalize the structure of a potential deal.
As for Garnacho, while formal discussions with the Red Devils are yet to commence, the Argentine winger is firmly on Chelsea’s radar.
The Blues’s admiration for the 21-year-old’s blistering pace, directness, and versatility in the final third is no secret, and are expected to explore the option of bringing him to Stamford Bridge later in the window with the winger reportedly enthusiastic about the prospect of joining a revitalized Chelsea project.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, the pursuits of Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho are being managed as separate, independent negotiations, with neither player considered a backup option for the other.
The tweet reads:
“Chelsea are pursuing both Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho deals.
“Separate deals, separate topics and not alternative. Both players keen on joining #CFC.
“Talks advanced for Xavi, Leipzig aware of player’s desire.
“No talks for Garnacho yet but he’s on Chelsea list”.
Chelsea have been extremely busy in the summer window thus far, bringing in a total of eight players some of whom were signed on pre-contract agreements and are still planning on adding more to Enzo Maresca’s squad before the September 1 deadline.
