Chelsea FC interim head coach Calum McFarlane has confirmed that Alejandro Garnacho, Pedro Neto and Robert Sánchez are all major doubts for Chelsea’s upcoming clash against Liverpool FC on Saturday.
According to Fabrizio Romano via his official x handle, Neto and Garnacho are both carrying knocks, with the pair already absent during Chelsea’s recent defeat to Nottingham Forest. McFarlane admitted it is now “unlikely” they will be available for the Liverpool fixture.

Romano posted:
Alejandro Garnacho and Pedro Neto are “unlikely to return against Liverpool”, says McFarlane. Robert Sánchez will be out.
Goalkeeper Robert Sánchez is also expected to miss the match after suffering a head injury during the 3–1 loss to Forest on Bank Holiday Monday, adding to Chelsea’s growing injury concerns.

Softfootball also gathered that McFarlane also provided an update on young player Jesse Derry, confirming the midfielder will miss the remainder of the season following a head injury sustained in the same game. However, the Chelsea boss reassured supporters that the early signs regarding Derry’s recovery are “really positive” after speaking with the player’s family.
The update comes shortly after McFarlane publicly described Chelsea’s defeat to Forest as “disappointing,” criticising the team’s poor start and defensive weaknesses during the match.
