Trevoh Chalobah is set to undergo his medical with Como today ahead of completing his permanent move from Chelsea, Softfootball confirms.

The 27-year-old defender is expected to sign a five-year contract running until June 2031, with the formalities of the transfer due to be completed on Thursday. Chelsea and Como have reached a full agreement on a deal worth £25 million in guaranteed fees, with a further £5 million in add-ons taking the total package to around £30 million.

The transfer follows weeks of negotiations between the two clubs, with Como securing the defender’s approval after presenting a project that includes UEFA Champions League football.

Chalobah has made it clear that he wants the move to Serie A, and the opportunity to play in Europe’s top competition has been a major factor in his decision.

Earlier, Como had reached a verbal agreement with Chelsea on a package worth €30 million in fixed fees, plus €6 million in add-ons and a sell-on clause. The deal has now advanced to the medical stage, leaving only the remaining formalities before Chalobah’s departure from Stamford Bridge is officially confirmed.
