Former England defender Jamie Carragher has predicted that Liverpool will sign Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak this summer.
The pundit believes the Reds are actively looking for a center-forward to replace Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez if they depart, making them strong contenders for the Swedish international. Softfootball reports that Carragher dismissed the idea of Arsenal being the only likely destination.
Carragher emphasized that any club signing Isak must have realistic Champions League ambitions due to his elite status.

He noted that while Barcelona might be interested due to Robert Lewandowski’s age, financial constraints could limit their ability to compete with Premier League giants for such a high-profile target.
He explained his view by stating:
I don’t really get all the talk about going to Arsenal. I know Arsenal would love him, but one thing I would say as well, Arsenal aren’t the only team that need a centre-forward. Liverpool need one as well. I think in the summer, Liverpool will be in the market for a centre forward.
This highlights the competitive nature of the potential transfer race.
