Softfootball can confirm that AFC Bournemouth have reached a full agreement to sign 21-year-old Uruguayan striker Álvaro Rodríguez from Elche in a deal worth €25 million plus a further €5 million in performance-related add-ons.

The agreement includes personal terms with the player, paving the way for one of Bournemouth’s biggest attacking investments ahead of the new season.

Rodríguez joins after an impressive campaign with Elche, where he scored seven goals and provided five assists in the club that secured promotion back to La Liga by finishing second in the Segunda División.

A product of Real Madrid Castilla, Rodríguez left Real Madrid CF for Elche in 2025 and has continued his development into one of Spain’s most promising young forwards. As part of the transfer agreement, Real Madrid will receive 50% of the transfer fee through a sell-on clause, earning €12.5 million upfront plus a share of any add-ons.

Standing at 1.93 metres, the Uruguay international is known for his aerial dominance, physical presence, and intelligent movement in the final third. Bournemouth believe the young striker has the qualities to adapt quickly to the Premier League and strengthen their attacking options for the seasons ahead.
