Fiorentina have completed the signing of Alex Jiménez on loan from Bournemouth after both clubs finalised all the necessary documentation for the transfer.

Softfootball understands that Bournemouth will cover the player’s salary during the loan spell, while the agreement includes a €20 million option for Fiorentina to make the move permanent at the end of the season. Jiménez has also completed his medical ahead of the official announcement.

The move comes just months after Bournemouth secured the Spaniard’s permanent transfer from AC Milan. Earlier this year, reports had it that the Cherries signed Jiménez in a deal worth an initial €19.5 million, with a further €5.3 million in performance-related add-ons, handing the player a five-and-a-half-year contract.

Jiménez, who previously progressed through Real Madrid’s academy before spells with AC Milan and Bournemouth, now heads to Serie A in search of regular first-team football. Real Madrid no longer retain any matching rights over the versatile Spaniard following his permanent departure from the Italian club.

At Fiorentina, the 20-year-old is expected to provide another attacking option on the right flank as head coach Fabio Grosso continues shaping his squad for the new campaign.

The loan also follows Bournemouth’s internal investigation in May 2026 into alleged Instagram messages involving Jiménez and a 15-year-old girl. Despite the off-field scrutiny, the transfer has now been completed, with both clubs focusing on the player’s footballing future.

Fiorentina will now hope Jiménez can fulfil his potential in Serie A before deciding whether to activate the €20 million purchase option at the end of the season.
