Super Eagles duo Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella featured for Bayer Leverkusen as the Bundesliga champions were held to a goalless draw by Stuttgart on Friday night, Softfootball reports.
The result denied Xabi Alonso’s side the chance to close the gap on league leaders Bayern Munich. A victory would have reduced Bayern’s advantage to just two points, but Leverkusen remain on 16 points while the Bavarians lead the standings with 20.

Boniface started the encounter and put in a spirited display before making way with four minutes left to play as Leverkusen searched for a breakthrough.
Tella, meanwhile, began the match on the bench and was introduced in the 86th minute in a late attempt to help his side snatch all three points.
Despite creating several chances, Leverkusen were unable to break down a disciplined Stuttgart defence, settling for a point in front of their home supporters.
Softfootball understands that the draw represents another setback for Alonso’s men as they look to keep pace with Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga title race.
