He is not the only Spanish and Barcelona star who could miss the World Cup, with Lamine Yamal also most likely to miss the tournament due to recovering from the injury he suffered during Barcelona’s win over RC Celta de Vigo on April 24, 2026.

The absence of both players would be a huge blow for Spain ahead of the tournament, considering their importance to both club and country.
