Alvaro Arbeloa has said goodbye to Real Madrid fans as he rules out being part of Jose Mourinho’s managerial team. Softfootball gathered, While speaking to the media, he emotionally stated that his 20 years at Madrid has finally come to an end, with the match against Athletic Club on Saturday 23rd May 2026 set to be his last appearance at the club.
This was his statement:
A goodbye tomorrow? I hope it’s a see you later. I hope to RETURN one day.
I’ve been with Real Madrid for 20 years, it’s my home. This is my last match this season, I don’t know if it will be the last of my life as Madrid coach, we never know”.
With Jose Mourinho officially the next manager of Real Madrid, Arbeloa also wished him well and expressed that he believes Mourinho has a fantastic coaching staff and is well surrounded.
