Manchester United are on the verge of confirming the signing of Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos after the 22-year-old successfully completed his medical ahead of his move from Chelsea.
All transfer documents have now been signed between the two clubs in a deal worth £50 million, with Santos scheduled to officially sign his contract on Friday. The agreement will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2031 and includes an option to extend for a further year.
Less than 48 hours ago, Softfootball exclusively reported that Manchester United had reached a full agreement with Chelsea and that Santos had been granted permission to undergo his medical after agreeing personal terms. The transfer has now reached its final stage.

Santos joined Chelsea from Vasco da Gama in 2023 and developed through loan spells, most notably at Strasbourg, before showcasing his quality in senior football. His ability to operate as both a defensive midfielder and a box-to-box No. 8, combined with his progressive passing and composure under pressure, made him a priority target for United.
The signing represents another important step in Manchester United’s midfield rebuild as the club continues to invest in young, high-potential talent capable of making an immediate impact while forming the core of the squad for years to come.
Reaction to the move has been divided. Manchester United supporters have welcomed the arrival of one of Brazil’s brightest young midfielders, while many Chelsea fans have expressed disappointment at seeing another highly rated prospect depart Stamford Bridge.
Barring any late surprises, Santos will be officially unveiled as a Manchester United player after signing his long-term contract on Friday.
