Super Eagles defender Ola Aina played a key role as Nottingham Forest recorded a remarkable 7-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at the City Ground.

Aina featured for the entire match as Nuno Espirito Santo’s side delivered one of their most impressive performances of the Premier League season.

Softfootball reports that the 28-year-old has continued to enjoy an impressive campaign, making 24 league appearances and scoring twice for Forest this season.

The Nigerian defender has established himself as an important member of the Forest squad as the club continues its push for European football.

His international teammate Taiwo Awoniyi also featured, coming off the bench eight minutes from full-time after replacing hat-trick hero Chris Wood.

Awoniyi has struggled for goals this season and has managed just one goal in 19 league appearances.

However, Forest’s latest victory further strengthened their position in the Premier League table.

The three points lifted Forest to 47 points, level with Arsenal in second place and seven points ahead of sixth-placed Newcastle United.

With the club continuing to impress, a top-five finish and potential Champions League qualification now looks increasingly realistic for Espirito Santo’s side.
