After being indicted back in March 2023, Hakimi has officially been referred to the criminal court in Hauts-de-Seine, France, to face rape charges.

As Gary referenced the statement made via France Info, Hakimi expressed his frustration with how the legal system is handling this situation, arguing that an accusation shouldn’t be enough to cause a trigger in trial when he believes the evidence proves his total innocence.
While Hakimi continues to play, this trial is a bone in the throat hanging over his career. The French court system will now decide the defender’s fate as the football world watches closely to see how the “truth” he’s waiting for will actually unfold in front of the judge.
