Hansi Flick has underlined the magnitude of Barcelona’s Super Cup final showdown with Real Madrid, as the Catalan giants prepare to defend the title they won against their eternal rivals last season, Softfootball reports.

The Barcelona boss was speaking to the press ahead of tomorrow’s final in comments shared via the club’s official X handle, he said:

I think everyone is happy to play against Real in the final and of course we have confidence from the match against Athletic Bilbao but at the end it’s a new game.

The German coach acknowledged the unique weight that comes with facing Real Madrid, describing the fixture as more than just another final. He stated:

It’s a big opponent, it’s El Clásico that we are playing and everybody knows how important this will be for us to win. And it’s the first title so we’re very focused on that.

But also we want to enjoy this. The two best teams in Spain, they are playing against each other. And with El Clásico, it’s normal that when Real Madrid plays against Barcelona it’s always something special.

Flick made it clear that reaching the final is something Barcelona truly value, especially after their dominant display in the semi-final, and he expects that level to be maintained. He said:

But as I said before, we really appreciate a lot this situation in the final. We played a fantastic semi-final and have to continue.

Winning trophies remains central to Flick’s mentality, particularly in finals, where he believes success can shape the rest of the campaign. He said:

For me it’s of course important to win, especially in finals. So that is our goal. We want to win for the fans and also for us, for the families. I think it’s very important

Everyone is focused on that but at the end it’s only one match. So of course when you win it can give you a lot of confidence for the end of the season.
