Softfootball understands that Italian clubs are beginning to circle Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin, as sport expert Fabrizio Romano reported via his official X account that several Serie A sides are pushing for a January loan move for the Romanian centre-back.
He said:
Italian clubs are keen on signing Radu Dragusin on an initial loan from Spurs in January.
The interest comes at a delicate moment in Dragusin’s Spurs career, as he works his way back from a serious ACL injury and searches for consistent first-team football.

Dragusin joined Tottenham from Genoa in January 2024 for around €25 million, turning down a move to Bayern Munich in the process. At the time, he was seen as a long-term defensive asset.
However, regular minutes have been hard to come by. Even before his injury, the 23-year-old struggled to break into the starting XI under Ange Postecoglou, and that situation has not changed much since Thomas Frank took over.

His progress was severely interrupted in January 2025 when he suffered an ACL rupture during a Europa League clash against Elfsborg. That setback ruled him out for months and stalled what little momentum he had built.
Now back on the pitch, he recently returned to action in a Tottenham friendly earlier this season, his first appearance in nearly 10 months.
Several Italian clubs are closely monitoring his situation. AS Roma, Fiorentina, and Napoli are all believed to be interested, with Roma and Fiorentina having already made formal enquiries.

Juventus are also loosely linked, adding a sentimental twist. Dragusin is a former Juventus youth player, and reports suggest he would be open to a return to Turin if the opportunity arises.
Tottenham are set to face Brentford in the Premier League. Fabrizio Romano also reported that, speaking ahead of the game, Thomas Frank has played things down, focusing instead on the defender’s recovery rather than transfer noise.
He posted:
Thomas Frank: Right now, just so happy to see him come on the pitch, having been out for nine or 10 months. For him it’s a massive step. That’s the most important thing.
Tottenham have not sanctioned any move yet, but sources claim Spurs may consider a loan deal, possibly with an option or obligation to buy. With Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Kevin Danso ahead of him, Dragusin’s path to regular starts looks narrow. A temporary exit feels more likely than not, though football, as always, rarely follows a straight line.
