Chelsea fans are in rage at manager Enzo Maresca after leading the Blues to defeat in the UEFA Champions League match-day 6, Softfootball reports.

Chelsea lost 2-1 to Atalanta despite going in front. Former Brighton forward, Joao Pedro gave the London side a first half lead but the game turned on its head in the second half as the home side equalised through former West Ham striker, Gianluca Scamacca before Charles De Ketelaere sealed the victory with a late winner.

Alejandro Garnacho, who claims Chelsea is the right choice for him in a recent interview was introduced in the second half to try savage the match but the home side were better on the night and took home the three points.

After the match, Chelsea shared the result with fans via their official X handle and obviously they weren’t happy and expressed it without any hesitations. Chelsea posted:

@jbarthrules said:

I think maresca needs to be told he can get fired, coz he is making decisions as if he is not sackable, bringing on Tosin was a mistake, I don’t know what it will take for him to learn, at this point, if he gets sacked, I won’t even be sad.

@Docuzor, a Chelsea fan, who was disappointed by the result. He said:

I’m painfully starting to admit we can never go on a sustained winning run for long with Maresca. His need and urge to always experiment will be our undoing. Two games ago, no right back was in the team and we lost to Leeds. Today we ended up playing two right backs in midfield.

@Ahmadht8_ added:

This team has so many problems that I don’t even know where to begin. The defence is a disaster, players are getting injured every half hour, and Maresca’s tactics and substitutions are a complete mess. In attack we don’t have a real striker, the wingers offer no creativity, and our only attacking spark was Reece James. After three disastrous performances, I’ve completely lost trust in Maresca.

Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah also gave his reaction after the match against Atalanta. Blues official X handle shared the video. Watch below.

@Alashkid wants Maresca to continue as Chelsea manager because of his lovely family. He posted:

@Pran__07 believes the Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has no clue on what he is doing at the club. He said:

Another embarrassing performance. Maresca’s obsession with Tosin who gave away the free kick for the Atalanta winner. After spending 2 billion pounds we ended up having 2 Right backs in midfield. Maresca has no idea what he’s doing.

@foreversojx slammed Maresca for not picking the right players for the match. He said:

Maresca is a rubbish coach, you have midfielders on the bench but no let me use my two right backs in the middle. Gittens did not play anything throughout and we have Estavao on the bench.

@mioseswelly stated:

The coach plays with 6 defenders. He subs on Tosin instead of bringing on Estevao or santos . We play our right backs in the midfield. Genuine question who was our number 10 in the second half? Wrong answers only.

@Emasja shared his feelings with a simple post.

Enzo Maresca was hailed as a fantastic manager by the same fans during the Match-Day 5 of the UEFA Champions League when he led Chelsea to a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Laliga champions, Barcelona at Stamford Bridge. He won the UEFA Conference League last season for the Blues and led them to the FIFA Club World Cup title with an impressive 3-0 win win against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in the final.
