Liverpool hailed Andy Robertson after he helped Scotland to a 2-1 win over Belarus in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, Softfootball reports.
The Reds left back was in action for 90 minutes for his country something that is scarce for him at club level these days. Just before the international break, he was only a second half substitute when Liverpool lost 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool’s official X handle celebrated Robertson as he enjoyed a fine outing on Sunday. The Reds wrote:
Two important wins for Robbo and @ScotlandNT this week 💪🏴
Scotland took the lead through Che Adams in the first half but in the second half the away side pressed for the equalizer but it created an opening for Napoli star man and Serie A’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) Scott McTominay to grab the second goal for the home side.
Gleb Kuchko reduced the deficit with a late goal but it was only a consolation goal as Scotland held out for a 2-1 victory. It’s another defeat for the minnows as they are yet to get a point in the group since the World Cup qualifer began and there are zero possibility of them qualifying for the 2026 Mundial to be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Scotland has now moved level on 10 points with first placed Denmark in Group C after four matches.
