Orlando City Step Up 2026 Transfer Push for Tottenham Star Richarlison

Orlando City are pushing hard to land Tottenham forward Richarlison in the summer of 2026, having laid out a pretty ambitious long-term project to convince the Brazilian. Softfootball understands that the club director Ricardo Moreira personally led a trip to London, sitting down with Richarlison’s agents to walk them through the MLS side’s sporting vision and growth plans.

This latest development was revealed by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted via his official X account after Softfootball indicated earlier that the Lilly Whites could lose the striker either way, with Galatasaray also reported to be interested.

He tweeted:

Orlando City board presented their project to Richarlison for summer 2026 with mission to London to meet with his agents. MLS side led by director Ricardo Moreira spoke to Richarlison’s camp, but he’s a key player for Spurs now.

The 28-year-old remains an important piece for Spurs boss Thomas Frank, chipping in 3 goals and an assist from 13 appearances so far this season. He also recently hit a big career mark: 250 Premier League appearances, something only a few Brazilians have managed before him.

Still, while Richarlison has said he’d like to stay one more season to keep his Brazil spot secure, the project Orlando put forward, plus a potentially tempting financial package, could give him something to really think about. Also, the Brazilian has not necessarily been electric with the club as he has only scored 3 goals in his last 12 games, a goal against Brighton 5 matches ago and a brace in the 3-nil thrashing of Burnley.

Richarlison’s current deal runs through 2027, so a move before 2026 looks unlikely, at least for now. But Orlando’s early move feels intentional — they want a star name, someone who can lift their profile like LAFC did when they brought in Son Heung-Min. And if they can pull this off, it might just turn a few more heads toward MLS.
