Liverpool forward Alexander Isak says belief remains strong within the squad despite recent setbacks, emphasizing that hard work and attention to detail will be key to turning results around after the international break.

The Reds suffered their third straight defeat on Saturday as Chelsea sealed a dramatic 2-1 victory at Stamford Bridge, Softfootball reported, with Estevao scoring deep into stoppage time. Cody Gakpo had earlier levelled for Arne Slot’s side after Moises Caicedo opened the scoring.

Speaking via the club’s official media, Isak reflected on the disappointment and outlined how the team can respond positively. He explained.

I think we started off pretty badly and worked our way into the game pretty well.

We came out in the second half and really gave everything to get a result. In the end, it’s obviously tough conceding in the last minute like that.

The Sweden international revealed that halftime discussions focused on fine-tuning tactical details to find spaces in Chelsea’s setup.

We were speaking about details in our press and also on the ball, the spaces to find to be able to hurt them. I think we created enough chances to score – it just wasn’t enough today.

Liverpool have recently struggled with late goals in defeats to Galatasaray and Crystal Palace, and Isak acknowledged the frustration while urging the team to stay united.

In the same way that winning like this is the best feeling, it’s the worst to lose in this type of way. We just have to keep working hard, bounce back, and get back to winning ways.

Despite the losses, the Isak believes the mentality within the dressing room remains intact. He said:

The belief is there that we can. This team has shown that many times. It’s never easy, but hard work and working on details and getting back to our best – we have that belief.

On his own progress since joining the club on deadline day, Isak said he is feeling fitter with every game. He noted:

I feel good; I’ve been working hard to get back to my best and I’m still working to reach top. It was good to play out there again. I was hoping for a different result, but we’ll keep working.

Looking ahead, Isak is eager for Liverpool’s next fixture, a high-profile clash against Manchester United after the international break. He said:

I’m very excited for the whole season ahead. Game by game we have to improve if we want to achieve the things we want to. But yeah, really excited.

Despite a difficult spell for Arne Slot’s side, Isak’s words reflect a squad determined to respond with resilience and discipline.

With belief still intact and a crucial clash against Manchester United on the horizon, Liverpool will aim to use the international break to regroup, refine, and reignite their season’s momentum.
