Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has spoken with heartfelt honesty about his emotional connection to FC Barcelona, ahead of their UEFA Champions League showdown on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
Softfootball reported in the game’s preview that the encounter will be closely contested and In his pre-match press conference, Enrique reflected warmly on his long journey with Barça from his playing days to his time in the dugout describing it as a place that shaped both his career and his heart.
Those words which have been widely shared by journalists, including Fabrizio Romano who posted on his official X account, underline Enrique’s deep affection for the Catalan club. Despite now leading PSG, the Spaniard said he’ll remain a Barcelona socio until the day he dies.
He Claimed:
I love watching Barça! I love how this team performs. You know that I am a Socio, I am a fan, I follow Barça games. Barcelona is my home. 8 years as a player and 6 years as a manager between youth and first team.
Switching gears later in the presser, Enrique also brought humour into the room when talking about Barça’s young midfielder, Pedri, whom he fondly nicknamed Harry Potter, as revealed once again by sports journalist Fabrizio Romano via his official X account. This is after the Spanish midfielder spoke bullishly to the press about the chances of his side.
