Jude Bellingham has reportedly returned to training at Real Madrid as he continues his recovery. The 22-year-old midfielder underwent shoulder surgery shortly after the Club World Cup this summer.
Softfootball reported that the England star finally addressed an injury that had troubled him since November 2023. Following the surgery, Los Blancos accepted that Jude Bellingham would miss the start of the new campaign, with a potential return set for late October.
Bellingham has since followed a “special recovery plan” to help get him ready for the new season as soon as possible, and it looks like it might be paying off. Encouragingly, the new development suggest his recovery is progressing smoothly.

The England international impressed in a more advanced position at the Club World Cup. However, Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is expected to deploy Bellingham in a deeper midfield role once he is fully fit, following Luka Modric’s departure.
According to Fabrizio Romano via his Facebook page, the midfield maestro has started to do exercise with Madrid team. Although the club’s medical staff are keen to keep his enthusiasm in check.
There are concerns that his eagerness to return could risk aggravating the injury. As a result, it has led Madrid to enforce a strict “zero risk” approach. The post reads:
BREAKING: Jude Bellingham has started to do EXCERCISES WITH THE TEAM, getting closer
Having been part of Real Madrid since the summer of 2023, Jude Bellingham had an immediate impact on the team. With 23 goals and 13 assists, Bellingham’s debut season was excellent.
However, one of the blows he received during the campaign was in the match against Rayo Vallecano. Despite the optimism surrounding his recovery, Madrid remain cautious. Bellingham’s return will only come when medical staff are certain he is fully ready.
In addition, Alonso has several players who can occupy his position, such as Brahim Diaz, Arda Guler, and even new signing Franco Mastantuono.
For now, Madrid will continue to navigate the early stages of the season without one of their most important players. Bellingham is set to miss several La Liga fixtures and at least two Champions League matches.
