Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr mate, Otavio closing in on move to join Al Qadsiah

Saudi Pro League side Al-Qadsah have reportedly  reached an agreement with  Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr for the transfer of midfielder Otávio. The Portuguese international is set to sign a two-year contract running until June 2027, with only final formalities left before the move is made official.

The 30-year-old playmaker, who joined Al-Nassr from Porto in 2023, has made 57 league appearances over two seasons, contributing 11 goals and 10 assists. Despite these numbers, his performances have reportedly been inconsistent, potentially making him available for a transfer.

Softfootball understands that the potential move unfolds against the backdrop of major changes at Al-Nassr, with the Saudi Pro League giants entering a new era under recently appointed Portuguese head coach Jorge Jesus. The club is reshaping its squad and strategy to align with his vision, marking a pivotal phase in their long-term project.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X handle, a two-year contract for 30-year-old Portuguese midfielder Otávio has been agreed between Al-Qadsiah and Al-Nassr, running until June 2027. He wrote:

Otávio deal has been agreed between Al Qadsiah and Al Nassr.

Formal steps to follow on two year contract until June 2027.

Al-Qadsiah, recently promoted to the Saudi top flight, appears determined to build a competitive squad capable of challenging established teams. Securing a high-profile player like Otávio would signal serious ambition from the Eastern Province club as they prepare for the new season.

The summer transfer window is expected to see Al-Qadsiah actively strengthen their roster, particularly focusing on elevating the quality of their foreign signings, and their interest in Otávio highlights the dynamic nature of the ongoing Saudi Pro League transfer window.

Softfootball earlier reported that despite circulating false claims, Barcelona have no plans to cut Marcus Rashford’s loan spell short. The club remain satisfied with both the agreement and the forward’s professionalism, stressing there are no discussions over an early termination of his loan from Manchester United.
