Borussia Dortmund has officially unveiled Aaron Anselmino after he completed his season long loan switch from Chelsea this summer.
Softfootball understands that the Argentine will wear the number 28 jersey for the Bundesliga giants this season. Dortmund were forced into the market for a center-back following the injuries to Nico Schlotterbeck, Niklas Süle and Emre Can, who is a midfielder but can effectively play in that role.

Dortmund released an official statement through CEO Lars Ricken. He expressed happiness over the signing of the 20-year-old via the official club media. He said
“Due to the injuries to Emre Can, Nico Schlotterbeck, and Niklas Süle, we were forced to make adjustments at center-back. Aaron Anselmino has already gained first-league experience in his home country and has great potential. It was no coincidence that Chelsea FC signed him to an extremely long-term contract last summer.”
Dortmund ‘s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl revealed that they’ve been monitoring the Argentina U-20 star for a while before deciding to go for him this summer.
He explained:
“We have been following Aaron since his time at Boca Juniors. He is a very good solution in our current situation. A talented player who has demonstrated his quality at a young age in very emotional stadiums. We will integrate him quickly because we need him immediately and are looking forward to seeing Aaron in the black and yellow jersey this season.”

Anselmino, who passed his medicals yesterday before signing his loan contract is ready for the task ahead.
He said:
“I’m really looking forward to Borussia Dortmund and will give my all to be successful with this great club and its fantastic fans.
““I was in Argentina eight months ago, then I went to England to join Chelsea. I’m delighted to be here now. I’m very happy about this step. I’ve been told a lot of good things about the BVB fans and about the size of the club. I’m therefore very happy and am really looking forward to it.
“I of course know that it’s a fantastic club that always competes at the very top. I know that BVB have a great fan base, which I like. The fans at Boca Juniors are very good too. That’s what I know about BVB. That makes me very happy to be here, I really like the club.”
Anselmino could make his debut at Signal Iduna Park next weekend when Dortmund play against Union Berlin.
