AC Milan are on the brink of landing Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen, with the two clubs reaching a verbal agreement over a loan deal that includes a €30 million purchase option.
The option is not mandatory, giving Milan flexibility as they seek to reinforce their attack. Softfootball reported that the Italian giants identified Victor Boniface as a target and now look likely to get their player.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the breakthrough via his official X handle, writing:
“AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen preparing formal documents after verbal agreement for Victor Boniface.
Loan deal with €30m buy option clause not mandatory.
AC Milan now in direct talks with Victor Boniface’s agent over personal terms, key final step to get the deal done.”
Negotiations are now focused on finalising personal terms between Milan and the player’s camp. Once that step is complete, the move is expected to be officially announced.
Boniface, 24, has already signalled his approval for the switch and is eager to complete the transfer. The Nigerian striker joined Leverkusen from Union Saint-Gilloise in 2023 for €22.6m, but injuries limited him to 27 appearances last season.
Despite the setbacks, he still recorded 11 goals and two assists, showcasing his potential as a powerful centre-forward.

Milan have been in the market for a striker all summer, weighing moves for Dusan Vlahovic and Rasmus Højlund. Both of those targets required costly permanent deals or loans with obligations to buy, making Boniface a more attractive option under the club’s current financial strategy.
The deal structure could eventually include clauses that convert the option into an obligation under certain conditions, though the exact details remain under discussion.
As of August 20, 2025, the transfer is in its final stages, with paperwork and contract details left to complete. If confirmed, Boniface would become Milan’s latest addition in their push to strengthen the squad ahead of the new Serie A season.
