Roma fans gathered at the Airport to welcome Brazilian right-back who arrived in the capital to complete his medical and finalise his move to the Giallorossi. The 21-year-old is now set to become the Italian’s club third signing of the summer as they continues to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
The winger is about to officially become a Giallorossi player. AS Roma sporting director, Frederic Massara has worked hard in recent weeks to meet Flamengo’s demands, managing to reach an agreement that will bring the player to Rome for a total fee of €25 million plus €5 million in bonuses.

According to a video posted on X by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, The 21-year-old landed at Fiumicino Airport on Sunday morning, receiving a warm welcome from several AS Roma supporters. The tweet reads:
“AS Roma’s new right back Wesley has arrived for medical and contract signing. 🛬
“€25m fixed fee plus €5m add-ons to Flamengo”.

Softfootball understands that Wesley will return to Brazil after completing his move to Roma, as he needs to finalise the documents required for his transfer to Italy. He will only start working with his new club in the coming days.
The wingback had been a primary target for coach Gian Piero Gasperini even when he still with Atalanta, although the negotiations dragged on for a while to get the deal over the line.
It was eventually agreed that he would make the move for €25m plus €5m in add-ons after Flamengo also secured Emerson Royal from Milan as his replacement at a cost of €9m.
