Leon Balogun has criticised Rangers’ performance in their 2-1 home defeat to Motherwell, admitting the team’s poor start and lack of consistency were major factors behind the disappointing result.
The Super Eagles defender expressed his frustration after the Scottish Premiership setback, saying Rangers failed to match the intensity expected at Ibrox.
Softfootball gathered that Balogun believes the team’s sluggish first-half display left them with too much to do despite an improved showing after the break.

The experienced centre-back admitted Rangers lacked urgency, intensity and composure from the opening whistle, allowing Motherwell to take control of the contest. He also pointed to individual errors but stressed that the team’s response to setbacks has been a recurring problem throughout the campaign.
Balogun noted that supporters had every right to express their frustration, especially after Rangers had shown encouraging character in their previous outing. He urged the squad to learn from the defeat and improve their consistency as they look to finish the season strongly and restore confidence among the fans.
