Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun is set to continue his European career in Cyprus after reportedly agreeing a move to Aris Limassol following his departure from Rangers.
Softfootball reports that the experienced centre-back is expected to join the Cypriot club as a free agent after his contract with Rangers came to an end.
The transfer would give Balogun an opportunity to begin another chapter after several seasons in Scottish football.
The 37-year-old returned to Rangers in 2022 and became an important squad member, contributing experience and leadership during his second spell at Ibrox.
His performances also kept him involved with Nigeria despite increasing competition for places in the Super Eagles defence.
Balogun has previously played in Germany, England and Scotland, representing clubs including Mainz, Brighton and Wigan Athletic. His experience at different levels of European football could prove valuable for Aris Limassol as they prepare for the new campaign.
The move is also expected to provide Balogun with the chance to compete for European football, depending on Aris Limassol’s qualification commitments.
