Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has insisted that Barcelona remains the best team in La Liga despite the intense title race involving Real Madrid.
The Argentine coach made his comments following a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the city derby, where Julian Alvarez and Kylian Mbappe exchanged goals. Softfootball reports that Simeone praised Barcelona’s attacking speed and collective play.
The match saw Atletico take the lead through an Alvarez penalty before Mbappe equalized for the hosts. Although the result leaves Real Madrid just one point ahead of Atletico, Simeone believes Barcelona’s style of football sets them apart from their competitors in the Spanish top flight.

He explained his view by stating:
I still insist that Barcelona is the best team in La Liga. They attack very well, they have incredible speed in their players, and they play very well as a team. Let’s see if they win tomorrow. It’ll be fun to see the journalists enjoy this tight race at the top.
Simeone also reflected on his team’s performance, noting that they were not clinical enough in the first half to capitalize on their chances. He acknowledged that both sides had opportunities to win but ultimately shared the points in a fiercely contested match that keeps the title battle wide open.
