Jordan Henderson is set to become a Chelsea player after agreeing a two-year contract with the Blues.
The former Liverpool captain will sign a deal running until June 2028, with the move expected to be completed later this week following the termination of his Brentford contract.
Softfootball first revealed the story on Monday, and the transfer has now been fully agreed, with Henderson preparing to join Xabi Alonso’s squad at Stamford Bridge.
The experienced midfielder became a free agent after officially ending his spell at Brentford, allowing Chelsea to move quickly to secure his signature without paying a transfer fee.
Henderson’s arrival follows Chelsea’s agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion for striker Danny Welbeck, who has also agreed personal terms until 2028 and is set to complete his medical after Brighton approved his transfer request.
Chelsea continue to add proven Premier League experience to a youthful squad, with Henderson’s leadership and winning mentality viewed as key assets as the club prepares for the 2026/27 season under Alonso.
